Introduction

Hello world, My name is Abdullah Al Mamun Fahim but I go by AL. Open-source is a topic that is very foundational to software development. The very foundation of a lot of popular tools are built by a small community of passionate developers working for free. These small communities contribution helps improve our life as devs as a whole. Many large companies with tons of resources utilize these open-source projects to bring their vision to life. Sometimes leading to a symbiotic relationship between the community and the company (in most cases at least).

Future Accomplishments

Hopefully I'll be able to give something back to the open-source tools with my contributions I've been using for the last couple years. These open-source tools helped me learn a lot and to be able to contribute something back would be amazing. As for choosing something to work on, I'm open to working on almost anything, as long as I understand the problem at hand and familiar with the tools at my disposal. Since most of my work has been on web development, something in that area wouldn't be too bad.

The Chosen One

I went to weekly trending section and imagine my surprise when I saw shadcdn. I first heard of shadcdn because of this video by developedbyed. Since then it has come a long way. I have used it many occasions and it is my favorite FREE react component library. The dark look is my favorite since I don't like messing with colors. And I have never had any complain about it's customization. Best of all, I can literally install the handful of dependencies and copy paste the code in my repo and configure the component to my heart's desire. This is something I have not found in any other UI library. Just for reference, I use Next.js and TailwindCSS for my projects and it's a perfect match. It's completely free and open-source!
