ChatGPT was announced a few days ago, and it has been a big topic of discussion in the tech world, for good reason.

In case you have been following along, and were confused about the difference between ChatGPT, which is a new demonstration of this type of technology, and GPT-3, which had already been in use in a variety of contexts.

I asked ChatGPT about that difference, and this is what it said:

ChatGPT and GPT-3 are both large language models trained by OpenAI, but they have some key differences. GPT-3, or Generative Pretrained Transformer 3, is the third generation of OpenAI's GPT language model, and it is one of the most powerful language models currently available.
