MAN TGX key blanks and codes differ from other models of large trucks. For instance, Freightliner began using a new FT1001-FT3000 series of codes in 2003 while Peterbilt and Kenworth used the P0001-P1500 code series in 2011. International trucks also have their own code system, so it is important to read the owner's manual for specific information about the keys and codes that work with your particular model.
Each MAN TGX Key has an individual bitting code. This code is used in conjunction with the key's Depth as well as Spacing Number to determine the exact shape of its cuts. A Bitting Code of 11111 and a Depth & Spacing Number of 48 for instance, indicates that the key has 5 deep cuts.
