We have a couple quick updates on DEV Challenges to share with the community. For those of you unfamiliar, DEV Challenges are mini community hackathons that typically run just under two weeks ranging from writing challenges to app building challenges. We try to always have at least one going on!

New Winner Announcement Day

Moving forward, DEV Challenge winners will be announced on Thursdays (instead of Tuesdays) following each challenge's closing date. This adjustment will give both our judging team and our newly launched volunteer judges adequate time to review all submissions thoughtfully.

Additionally, due to holiday schedules and personal commitments among our core judging team, a few specific challenges will have slightly longer delays in winner announcements. We appreciate your patience as we work through these submissions with the attention they deserve.

Upcoming Winner Announcement Dates

Below is our current schedule for upcoming winner announcements. Please note that submission deadlines have not been extended and remain the same for each challenge!

• Hacktoberfest Writing Challenge: November 14
• The Open Source AI Challenge with pgai and Ollama: November 14
• AssemblyAI Challenge: December 5

All future challenges announced will follow our new Thursday announcement schedule.
