Today, we are recognizing the achievements of each student within the open source cohort of the Major League Hacking (MLH) Fellowship — all of whom are graduating today!
Fellows have spent the past 12 weeks under the guidance of personal, expert mentors and within small groups to contribute to open source projects via GitHub — projects that working engineers at major companies contribute to every day!
At the beginning of the MLH program, fellows were placed within small groups of 8-10 people, a mentor, and several open source maintainers. Students relied on these "pods" for day-to-day support and collaboration during the program.
The goal? To level up aspiring software engineers up in a practical, real-world manner that will be applicable to them in the field.
Graduating from the MLH Fellowship Program is an enormous accomplishment so, please check out the stories posted by these awesome grads (just take a look at the DEV tag #mlhgrad). Below are just a few of the entries that chronicle the experience of participating in the program
In no particular order...

"Being able to get direct feedback on your code is priceless and it only helps you sharpen your skills, especially for people who've not even started their careers yet like us students."
Erin McNulty
"In addition to learning about Typescript through creating nodes, I learned about design, UI/UX, and Vue through ideating, prototyping, coding, and launching the Nodemaker.
I am extremely grateful to MLH for the opportunity to work with n8n, and to the n8n maintainers for their code reviews and feedback on the Nodemaker."

"I can say from the bottom of my heart that this fellowship was by far the best professional experience I've had, and I am super thankful to all the friends I've made on the way and to all the MLH crew for putting so much effort into it <3”
