What is UberX Share?

The UberX Share feature will allow you to share a ride. Another rider going in the same direction can join you. UberX Share in the Uber app is your choice for getting an upfront discount. You'll receive up to 20 percent off the total fare if you travel with a co-rider.Uber will only pair you with a rider going your direction. This helps minimize delays due to picking up and dropping off.The company designed UberX Share to ensure that the maximum delay in your arrival is eight minutes compared to selecting a standard UberX.

UberX Share helps users save money, according to Uber. This initiative also aims to: Reduce gas use per passenger Decrease vehicle-miles traveled Lower emissions per passenger Make transportation more affordable. Our pooling product has been a favorite among riders for a long time, with spontaneous singalongs and meeting new friends being just some of the fun experiences. We believe that UberX Share, with the improvements we've made for both drivers and riders, will make it even better than before.

How does UberX Share work?

UberPool works similarly to this: In the Uber app, you can choose UberX Share as an option for your ride request. Availability of UberX Share depends on your country and city. When requesting a ride with Uber, you need to put in your destination first. After that, you'll receive a list of options such as UberX, UberXL, Comfort, and UberX Share if available. When you choose UberX Share, a pop-up will appear explaining how it works. You'll save 20% if Uber finds a co-rider for you along your route. However, this discount won't apply if you end up riding alone for the entire trip.You will reserve one seat per request. Please arrive no more than eight minutes later than for a standard UberX.
