If you tuned into GitHub Universe or saw Nat Friedman's amazing keynote, you may have noticed one of my favourite quotes of GitHub:
"At GitHub, the thing we care about the most in the world is developer experience... our job is to make it easier for you to build amazing things".
Highly recommend watching this keynote if you haven't already. It's only 15 minutes long and totally worth it.
As Nat said, what we really care about is developer experience and making it easier for you to do the things you want to do.
So we wanted to make things a little better for you and shipped a few key dates to issues, comments, and Discussion comments:
✔️ Ability to add videos to issues and comments
✔️ Markdown list auto-completion
✔️ Multi-word reference searching
The ability to upload *.mp4 and *.mov files is a big game changer. You can add files up to 10MB and allows you to be more creative and visual when writing issues and comments. This includes comments in Discussions.
Auto list complete and multi-word allows you to work a little faster. Instead of having to type out each kind of list (bullets, numbers, and checklists), when you go to the next line, you'll automatically have the next point ready for you.
Using # when searching for a comment, issue, or Discussion to reference now allows you to search using multiple keyboards. This will help you find things quicker so you can get to working on the things that matter most.
