Where to list your Ruby company online

Lucian Ghinda - Oct 2 - - Dev Community

A couple of projects or directories in the Ruby community are trying to aggregate companies or products using Ruby or Ruby on Rails. If you are using Ruby or any Ruby-based framework in your company or for one of your projects, then I think you should add it to these websites as you see fit.

These efforts are important for the community, as they provide a valuable resource for job seekers while offering inspiration and opportunities about what can be built with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

Moreover, it is equally good to show what kind of projects and companies can be built with Ruby / Ruby on Rails for anyone considering learning Ruby.

UsingRails.com

https://usingrails.com is a project by Andy Croll that contains organizations that use Ruby on Rails.

You can submit a website directly via the web interface at https://usingrails.com/submissions/new after creating a new account.

They already have close to 1900 companies, and if you are using Ruby on Rails and you are not there, you should submit your product/company using this link.

Github Repo: Awesome Ruby Places

This is an OSS repo created by Alex Rudall that contains companies that are using Ruby as a programming language:

To add a company here you just need to edit a file and submit a PR. You can edit it directly from Github interface.

Startups on Rails

https://startupsonrails.com is a project created by Gustavo Valenzuela and contains a list of companies using Ruby on Rails from “single-owner startups to industry giants”.

Not sure at the moment when writing this article how to add a company there. I suggest you to contact Gustavo Valenzuela on Twitter/X. I found this post they shared.

TopRubyCompanies.info

https://toprubycompanies.info is a project maintained by Yohei Yasukawa (and other people by I could not find more data so far) and they display a list of companies using Ruby that fit some specific criteria:

They have recently added a Consultancies section and are working to add a section about Startups.

You can add your company by using the Add Your Company button on the main website that goes to a Typeform

The project is open-sourced at https://github.com/gkunwar/BuiltWithRuby

You can add your own company or product via Github issues and choose New Project Submit

The website is open-sourced at https://github.com/CalvinWalzel/ruby-companies

You can add your company or product by opening a PR at https://github.com/CalvinWalzel/ruby-companies

rubyonremote.com/remote-companies

https://rubyonremote.com/remote-companies is a list of companies currently hiring or that they hired a remote Ruby developer in the last three years. The project is created by Ishan.

Being on this list means adding your job ad to the website.
