Why is Python called "Python"?

Contrary to what some may think, Python wasn’t named after the snake! Python's creator, Guido van Rossum, named the language after the British comedy group Monty Python. Guido was a fan of their show, "Monty Python's Flying Circus," and wanted to choose a name that was short, unique, and slightly quirky.

Because of this, many Python documentation examples often include playful references to "Monty Python," like mentioning "spam" and "eggs," terms popularized by one of their sketches!
