This is a submission for the 2024 Hacktoberfest Writing challenge: Contributor Experience
Okayyy, so I have been hearing a lot about Hacktoberfest, I am not a newbie to open-source contributions, but whenever this event comes around each year, I always find myself engulfed in some other thing, and just like that it passes by. Well, I decided that not this year. This year, I made a promise to myself that I would participate no matter what.
Although I almost did miss it, I said better late than never and got to work, and guess what? I did it!! I was able to hit my 4 PRs quota😁, making this my first-ever Hactoberfest participation.
Seeing as this is my first time participating in Hacktoberfest and I did start quite late, I decided not to go for the bigger projects and to take on smaller tasks that won't take much time to get reviewed and merged.
Thanks to @alizayayesha for linking me up with some repositories to get started with.
Well, all that being said, contributing to open-source doesn't just begin and end with Hacktoberfest, but the event does bring more awareness to it, which is great, so ensure you still keep the spirit of open-source even after Hacktoberfest💪.
And that's a wrap... cheers to Hacktoberfest'24 😁💫🥂
