To analyze clinical feature and information of medication to explore the risk signals of preparations containing Psoraleae Fructus (BGZP) related with hepatobiliary adverse drug reactions (ADR), in order to reinforce pharmacovigilance.
A retrospective study was conducted based on hepatobiliary ADR related with BGZP from the China Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring System in years from January 2012 to December 2016. Serious and general ADRs were analyzed and assessed.
There were 355 cases of hepatobiliary ADR related to BGZP. 1-Thioglycerol Both the amount of cases and the proportion of serious ADR showed an increasing growth by years (P<0.05). It was found that 10.43% of 355 cases may be involved with irrational drug use, including overdose, repeated medication, and combination of multiple drugs. There were 190 cases which used BGZP (non-combination), and they were mainly for common in diseases caused by abnormal immune activation (accounting for 40.53% of the total cases). Especially at the age group with the most cnduced liver injury, and recommended that BGZP should be used with more caution under monitoring liver function, especially in female patients with immunological diseases.Despite data suggesting that older adolescence is an important period of risk for HIV acquisition in Uganda, tailored HIV prevention programming is lacking. To address this gap, we developed and tested nationally, InThistoGether (ITG), a text messaging-based HIV prevention program for 18-22 year-old Ugandan youth. To assess feasibility and acceptability, and preliminary indications of behavior change, a randomized controlled trial was conducted with 202 youth. Participants were assigned either to ITG or an attention-matched control group that promoted general health (e.g., self-esteem). They were recruited between December 2017 and April 2018 on Facebook and Instagram, and enrolled over the telephone. Between 5-10 text messages were sent daily for seven weeks. Twelve weeks later, the intervention ended with a one-week 'booster' that reviewed the main program topics. Measures were assessed at baseline and intervention end, 5 months post-randomization. Results suggest that ITG is feasible The retention rate was 83%. Ratings for the content and program features met acceptability thresholds; program experience ratings were mixed. ITG also was associated with significantly higher rates of condom-protected sex (aIRR = 1.68, p less then 0.001) and odds of HIV testing (aOR = 2.41, p = 0.03) compared to the control group. The odds of abstinence were similar by experimental arm however (aOR = 1.08, p = 0.86). Together, these data suggest reason for optimism that older adolescent Ugandans are willing to engage in an intensive, text messaging-based HIV prevention programming. Given its wide reach and low cost, text messaging should be better utilized as an intervention delivery tool in low-income settings like Uganda. Findings also suggest that ITG may be associated with behavior change in the short-term. (Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov ID# NCT02729337).
This study investigates the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of combined treatment with VEGF inhibitor bevacizumab, topoisomerase I inhibitor irinotecan, and EGFR inhibitor erlotinib in children with progressive diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).
Biweekly bevacizumab (10 mg/kg) and irinotecan (125 mg/m
) were combined with daily erlotinib. Two cohorts received increasing doses of erlotinib (65 and 85 mg/m
) following a 3 + 3 dose-escalation schedule, until disease progression with a maximum of one year. Dose-limiting toxicities (DLT) were monitored biweekly. Secondary progression free survival (sPFS) and overall survival (OS) were determined based on clinical and radiological response measurements. Quality of life (QoL) during treatment was also assessed.
Between November 2011 and March 2018, nine patients with disease progression after initial radiotherapy were enrolled. Median PFS at start of the study was 7.3 months (range 3.5-10.0). In the first dose cohort, one patient experienced a DLT (grade III acute diarrhea), resulting in enrollment of three additional patients in this cohort. No additional DLTs were observed in consecutive patients receiving up to a maximum dose of 85 mg/m
. Median sPFS was 3.2 months (range 1.0-10.9), and median OS was 13.8 months (range 9.3-33.0). Overall QoL was stable during treatment.
Daily erlotinib is safe and well tolerated in doses up to 85 mg/m
when combined with biweekly bevacizumab and irinotecan in children with progressive DIPG. Median OS of the study patients was longer than known form literature.

However, as different soils have diverse and specific ecological characteristics and may represent adverse abiotic conditions, in vivo application requires the careful selection of the desired beneficial microorganisms. In this study we report Ensifer adhaerens SZMC 25856 and Pseudomonas resinovorans SZMC 25875 isolates recovered from glyphosate-treated soil to possess yet undiscovered plant growth-enhancing potential. The strains were found to promote the growth of tomato seedlings significantly, to have the ability of synthesizing indole-3-acetic acid and siderophores, to tolerate pH in the range of 6.59-7.96, salinity up to 12.5 g L-1 NaCl and drought up to 125 g L-1 polyethylene glycol 6000, as well as to survive in the presence of various pesticides including glyphosate, diuron, chlorotoluron, carbendazim and thiabendazole, and heavy metals such as Al, Fe, Mn, Zn, Pb and Cu. The plant growth-promoting traits of the examined E. adhaerens and P. resinovorans isolates and their tolerance to numerous abiotic stress factors make them promising candidates for application in different agricultural environments, including soils polluted with glyphosate.1-Thioglycerol
