What's the best job advice you've heard?

Often job wisdom should be taken with a pinch of salt: what might be great advice for one person just isn't right for you. I often feel like those who are most willing to tell me how to succeed aren't those who worked hard but those who were extremely lucky.

But there is some advice I've gotten that I will always appreciate, the thing that stands out as the absolute best:

No matter how much you want a particular job, take the time in the interview stage to ask about concerns that really matter to you. You're interviewing the job as much as they're interviewing you.

Like I mentioned above even this good advice isn't universal, but it's stood me in good stead through the last four job searches.
