Soulis30 days ago, I signed up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole's cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30.
In that time, I wrote & published 30 Atomic Essays, learned the fundamentals of Digital Writing, made friends, and started gaining clarity over what my niche might be. It has been a very rewarding (and challenging) journey, and I am more excited than ever to keep writing online.
Here are the 3 biggest things writing & publishing consistently every day for 30 days taught me:
1. Writing is a skill booster
For years, my ability to express myself, articulate my words, and organize my thoughts was lost, gradually diminishing to the point where my creativity died with it.
Computer Science helped me rebuild my logical thinking, and the "Ship 30 for 30" challenge helped me recover many of my lost skills. Now, I can express myself better, my mind is at peace, my thoughts are in order, and my passion for writing has been reignited. This course not only helped me develop a habit of writing online and learn the fundamentals, but it also taught me about persuasion, psychology, and marketing.
It freed my mind from toxic beliefs that weren't even mine.
2. Everything starts with writing
Rushing an idea without any planning or organization is a recipe for disaster.
Through the power of writing, ideas can not only be tested but also explored in depth, using multiple formats, styles, and structures.
Approaching work in this way can make the success of a project almost undeniable.
3. We were program to be poor, deposable and remplazable
We are social, creative, and curious creatures capable of great things. From a very young age, we're told to act and think in a certain way.
We go to school to learn skills without even knowing why, and we are taught not to believe in our ideas, convinced that achieving our dreams is too hard or even impossible.
Invest in yourself. Free your mind from beliefs that aren't truly yours!
