  • Austrian group NOYB filed GDPR complaints against X, accusing it of using users' personal data to train AI without consent, violating EU law. Ireland's Data Protection Commission seeks to restrict X from processing such data. X agreed not to use EU users' data for AI training temporarily.

  • Huawei is close to launching its new AI chip, Ascend 910C, to compete with Nvidia amid U.S. sanctions, according to sources. The chip is being tested by Chinese firms and is said to rival Nvidia's H100. U.S. sanctions have limited Nvidia's chip offerings in China, including the H20 chip.

  • India's antitrust body has recalled two reports alleging Apple's abuse of its dominant position in the app market after Apple complained of commercial secrets being leaked to competitors. This move prolongs the investigation, which began in 2021, focusing on Apple's in-app purchase system and its impact on developers and users.

  • Polish billionaire Rafal Brzoska and his wife plan to sue Meta over fake ads featuring his image and false information about her on Facebook and Instagram. Despite notifying Meta in July, the issue persists. They are deciding on a jurisdiction for the lawsuit, aiming to hold Meta accountable.

  • The ransomware group Dispossessor, which targeted at least 43 companies globally, including in healthcare and transport, has been taken down by U.S. and German authorities. Founded in August 2023 and led by "Brain," the group targeted small to medium-sized businesses, affecting countries worldwide, including hospitals in the U.S.
