Education and technology are the main factor for the success of the future generations. And the current education has to face the situation where most of the young kids are growing up with the use of internet and cutting-edge technologies. Current government has to realize that technologies will have an impact on our personal and professional life and change the landscape of education, making it more automotive and different than it was before with the use of books.

The industry of Edutech is changing the way people acquire new knowledge, making them more aware of innovative solutions and opportunities. EduTech gives people endless opportunities to learn new things in a fun and engaging way. Thanks to education and technology a student can practice French online, upload homework through an intranet and learn chemistry and physics through virtual reality, etc.

The education market is currently worth around $5 trillion globally, and it is forecasted that education technology investment alone will reach $252 billion by the year 2020. This growing investment into edtech startups has created some exciting changes in the world of education.

I researched companies in the Edutech space and selected 10 Edutech companies that are making a difference in the way we learn. This list doesn’t have a particular order, I just name these companies here.

Education and technology projects

In order to address behavioural issues in class, this app, that combines education and technology, presents teachers with “data-rich” information in order to take the right decision and control the behaviour problems. Professors and educators can better-see and rank their students behaviour to create better plans for the students to achieve success if there is a problematic scenario with the kid. It also has the “whole-school” option to foresee which student needs some extra resources. As for the parents, they also have access to this info to learn more about their children’s behaviour patterns.

  • HelpHub

This app uses a innovative algorithm to match tutors with students. HelpHub connects them over interactive messaging, web video and phone features. All their information is analysed and gathered into a bigger community of HepHub to center on particular schools, networks or topics. It directly benefits the student, because it gives them really quick and trustfully help.

Mathbreakers uses a more gamification style of learning – action adventure role-playing to give students a fun, yet calculated, gaming environment that puts math at the center– to make its users learn from more basic and simple problems, to more advanced counting and complicated subjects. The goal and vision behind this application is that everybody sees that math problem solving can be visualized and achieved

Alma is a system that focuses on student learning management. With only one access, it provides a very big number of features to create really extended and detailed reports for the tutors.

ParentSquare is one of the few apps which is launched for the parents. Their main goal is to keep them informed 24/7 and to give them the facilities for better educate their kid and be aware of their activities, tests or different events at school. It has a really easy-to-read interface so that parents don’t get confused and everyone of them can use it. Basically, this app empowers parents to take a more active role in the academic success of their kids.

Text, email, web and mobile apps ensure schools reach every parent

It is a very simple app that helps teachers to organise their classes in a very Finnish way.

Another great app that uses the latest technology such as Artificial intelligence to analyze all the data from the different schools and translate it into personalized feedback for parents and teachers.

  • StudySoup “Students helping students helping students.”

StudySoup is basically a marketplace where the students can sell or buy quality study materials.

“College students love learning with an iPhone and, with StudySoup, they can earn real profits from their own digital academic endeavors to pay for the rising cost of higher education”.

Don’t take me wrong, StudySoup is not a homework-buying or essay-purchasing website, but a place where peers can find extra notes specific to a user’s college course for test preparation, etc.

ClassTag focuses on the parent- teacher relationship, which is essential for each child’s academic growth. It allows teachers to organize events, schedule conferences, and develop newsletter campaigns for constant, and individualized parent-teacher communication.

Having coding skills could pay huge dividends later on in life.

CodeMonkey has a very innovative approach so that kids don’t get overwhelmed with learning materials, but play while learning. For example, students assist a monkey in finding bananas by constructing lines of code. As coding becomes a must to learn skill, schools all over the world are deciding to implement this course. And while students are playing, the game analyzes their actions to provide them with hints and valuable assistance.
