AzureFunBytes is a weekly opportunity to learn more about the fundamentals and foundations that make up Azure. It's a chance for me to understand more about what people across the Azure organization do and how they do it. Every week we get together at 11 AM Pacific on Microsoft LearnTV and learn more about Azure.
One of the great parts about using Azure is how thoughtful the product designers and engineers are when it comes to creating services for everyone. Sometimes you need an integration of your Azure services that ties other things together. Azure Logic Apps helps do just that. As a part of the Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps helps you connect legacy, modern, and cutting-edge systems across cloud, on premises, and hybrid environments.
To help me understand how to use Azure Logic Apps, I have drafted the talented and super creative Senior Cloud Advocate, Chloe Condon. Chloe has experience in making your Azure experience extremely fun while educating you on the services available.
Our agenda:
- Review the many different ways you can create bots using Microsoft tools
- Show off some of our favorite bot examples of Logic Apps in the wild
- Create a twitter bot in minutes using Logic Apps
- Discuss ethical bot creation, and cover the questions developers should ask themselves when building bots to ensure they are not harmful or abusive.
From the Azure Doc, "What is Azure Logic Apps?"
Azure Logic Apps is a cloud-based platform for creating and running automated workflows that integrate your apps, data, services, and systems. With this platform, you can quickly develop highly scalable integration solutions for your enterprise and business-to-business (B2B) scenarios. As a member of Azure Integration Services, Logic Apps simplifies the way that you connect legacy, modern, and cutting-edge systems across cloud, on premises, and hybrid environments.**
The following list describes just a few example tasks, business processes, and workloads that you can automate using the Logic Apps service:
- Schedule and send email notifications using Office 365 when a specific event happens, for example, a new file is uploaded.
- Route and process customer orders across on-premises systems and cloud services.
- Move uploaded files from an SFTP or FTP server to Azure Storage.
- Monitor tweets, analyze the sentiment, and create alerts or tasks for items that need review.
